Tyler Reddick Overcomes Chaos, Wins Thriller at Kansas in Overtime

Tyler Reddick continues to build one of the most impressive starts to a season in recent memory, adding another dramatic win Sunday at Kansas Speedway in the AdventHealth 400.

It didn’t come easy.

Late in the race, Reddick brushed the wall, dealt with fuel system issues, and made contact with Christopher Bell during a hectic overtime restart. At one point, it looked like the race had slipped away entirely as he dropped behind defending champion Kyle Larson.

But when it mattered most, Reddick found another gear.

A late spin by Cody Ware forced the race into overtime, setting up a final two-lap shootout. Most of the leaders opted for right-side tires only, putting a premium on track position and handling.

On the restart, Larson made a strong move to the lead, while Reddick lost ground after contact with Bell sent the No. 20 into the wall. That could have been the end of his chances—but instead, it set up the winning move.

With the outside lane building momentum, Reddick surged forward, then dove to the inside of Larson entering the final corners. Larson’s car tightened up at the worst possible time, and Reddick capitalized, completing the pass and pulling ahead to win by just 0.118 seconds.

The victory marks Reddick’s fifth win in the opening nine races of the NASCAR Cup Series season, putting him in rare company historically. It’s also his second win at Kansas and the 13th of his Cup career.

Behind him, Larson settled for second after leading 78 laps, while Chase Briscoe finished third with a late charge on fresh tires. Denny Hamlin, who led a race-high 131 laps and looked poised to win before the late caution, ended up fourth. Bubba Wallace completed the top five.

For Reddick, the win wasn’t just about speed—it was about survival.

Between mechanical concerns, close calls, and late-race chaos, the No. 45 23XI Racing team had every reason to fade. Instead, they executed when it counted and turned a messy finish into another statement victory.

With the win, Reddick extends his points lead and heads to Talladega Superspeedway next with all the momentum in the world.

If this stretch is any indication, the rest of the field has a serious problem on its hands.
