Corey Heim took control in the final stage and held off Zane Smith over the closing laps to win Saturday night’s Heart of America 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Kansas Speedway. It was Heim’s second victory of the 2024 season.

Heim, driving the No. 11 TRICON Garage Toyota, took the lead from Nick Sanchez on lap 70 of the 134-lap race. He maintained his advantage through a cycle of green-flag pit stops and was able to pull away slightly.

2022 Series Champion Zane Smith closed the gap in the final 10 laps in his No. 91 McAnally-Hilgemann Chevrolet but came up just short, finishing 1.088 seconds behind Heim at the checkered flag.

“What a truck! It was free for most of the race,” said Heim. “Even with the balance I had, the truck had so much potential to get better. I’m kind of out of breath now—it was a handful those last 30 laps.”

Smith was disappointed after losing several spots on pit road following the second stage that cost him track position he couldn’t fully make up.

Christian Eckes finished third, followed by career-best fourth-place finisher Kaden Honeycutt and 2018 series champion Brett Moffitt in fifth in his season debut.

The win was Heim’s first at Kansas and the seventh of his Truck Series career. He also won at Circuit of The Americas in March. Heim now leads Eckes by seven points in the championship standings.
