The NASCAR All-Star Race is heading back to a place that has quickly become a favorite among fans.

North Wilkesboro Speedway will once again host NASCAR’s midsummer exhibition in 2027, bringing the event back to the historic 0.625-mile North Carolina short track. The All-Star Race is scheduled for May 23 and will be broadcast nationally by FOX Sports.

The return comes just one year after North Wilkesboro hosted a points-paying Cup Series race. Dover Motor Speedway took over the All-Star Race in 2026, but NASCAR has decided to bring the event back to Wilkes County for another summer showdown.

The move gives North Wilkesboro another opportunity to showcase the unique racing that has made its recent NASCAR comeback so popular.

The track hosted the All-Star Race from 2023 through 2025. Kyle Larson won the first edition in 2023, followed by Joey Logano in 2024 and Christopher Bell in 2025. Each driver earned the $1 million prize that comes with winning NASCAR’s exhibition event.

Logano has already enjoyed another memorable trip to North Wilkesboro. He won the Window World 450 there in 2026, the first points-paying Cup Series race at the track since 1996.

The 2027 weekend will be even bigger than the All-Star Race alone.

NASCAR is planning a national-series tripleheader at the historic facility. The Craftsman Truck Series will open the weekend on May 21 with coverage on FOX Sports.

The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series will race on May 22, marking the series’ first visit to North Wilkesboro since 1985. That race will air on The CW.

Then the weekend will conclude with the Cup Series All-Star Race on May 23.

North Wilkesboro’s return to the NASCAR schedule has been one of the sport’s biggest success stories in recent years. Once removed from the national schedule for decades, the historic short track has found new life thanks to its restoration and a renewed interest in NASCAR’s roots.

Bringing the All-Star Race back to the track gives fans another chance to see some of NASCAR’s biggest stars compete in an event where the normal championship points are not at stake.

With a $1 million prize, a short track known for close racing, and three national series competing across one weekend, North Wilkesboro is set for another major NASCAR celebration in 2027.

The question now is simple: Who will add their name to the list of All-Star winners at one of NASCAR’s most historic venues?
