Sexton Takes Triple Crown as Smith Makes Triumph History

Chase Sexton of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing emerged victorious at the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Round 4 in Glendale, Arizona, reclaiming the championship points lead in a night that featured multiple dramatic moments. The event, held at State Farm Stadium, marked the season’s first Triple Crown format, where Sexton’s consistent (3-3-2) race finishes secured him the overall win.

The podium battle was intense throughout the night, with Cooper Webb of Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing taking second overall after winning Race 1 and finishing with (1-5-3) scores. Ken Roczen, who entered the night holding the red plate, rounded out the podium with (4-1-5) finishes, including a victory in Race 2.

The night wasn’t without its share of drama, as defending champion Jett Lawrence was forced to withdraw during Race 3 due to knee discomfort, finishing eighth overall with (2-2-DNF) scores. Eli Tomac showed remarkable resilience, overcoming poor starts in the first two races to win Race 3 and secure fourth overall.

In the Western Regional 250SX Class, history was made as Jordon Smith delivered Triumph Racing’s first-ever Supercross victory with consistent (2-3-1) performances. The win marked a significant milestone for Triumph and continued the pattern of different winners in each round this season. Haiden Deegan secured second place overall, while Cole Davies impressed with two race wins before a Race 3 crash relegated him to third overall.

The championship now heads east to Tampa, Florida, for Round 5 at Raymond James Stadium on February 8th, where the Eastern Regional 250SX Class Championship will begin. The event will continue to be available live on Peacock, with additional coverage across NBC’s various platforms.
