Verstappen Victorious in Imola Thriller as Norris Pushes Hard

Max Verstappen took his fifth win in just seven races this season at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, but he had to work for it as Lando Norris mounted a thrilling late charge in the closing laps. Verstappen made a clean getaway from pole position and controlled the race early on, but Norris rapidly closed the gap, making for a nail-biting finale. Team Penske Flexes Muscle in Indy 500 Qualifying Day 1

Team Penske asserted its dominance on the opening day of qualifying for the 108th Indianapolis 500, sweeping the top three positions among the drivers who advanced to Sunday’s battle for the NTT P1 Award pole position.
Will Power led the Penske charge by posting the fastest four-lap average of 233.758 mph in his No. 12 Verizon Chevrolet. Reigning Indianapolis 500 winner Josef Newgarden was second at 233.332 mph, followed by Scott McLaughlin’s 233.293 mph in the No. 3 Pennzoil entry.
If the Penske trio can hold onto the top three spots after Sunday’s qualifying, it will mark just the second time in Indianapolis 500 history that one team has swept the front row. Penske previously accomplished the feat in 1988.
“It was a good, smooth run,” Power said. “We would have liked to have run in the heat, but (team owner) Roger (Penske) didn’t want us to go out. The $1 million-to-win NASCAR All-Star Race headlines Sunday’s action, where Kyle Larson aims to go back-to-back despite his hectic Indianapolis 500 prep schedule.
The CRAFTSMAN Truck Series also takes center stage Saturday with the Wright Brand 250 boasting an intriguing entry list. NASCAR Shakes Things Up with In-Season Tournament for 2025

In a bid to increase excitement and fan engagement, NASCAR unveiled plans Monday for an in-season, bracket-style tournament during the 2025 Cup Series campaign. The tournament will take place over the stretch of races aired by new broadcast partner TNT Sports as part of NASCAR’s new media rights deal.
The 32-driver tournament field will be seeded based on results from the three preceding Cup races exclusively aired on Prime Video. Once the tournament begins during TNT’s first race broadcast, drivers will go head-to-head in a bracket format, with the higher seed advancing each round until a champion is crowned.
The winner will take home a $1 million prize, raising the stakes during a pivotal summer stretch of the NASCAR schedule. The midseason tournament aims to inject a fresh competitive dynamic while delivering unprecedented coverage and engagement opportunities across TNT Sports’ platforms. NASCAR Race Hub to End After 14 Years

After over 14 years on the air, the daily NASCAR news/analysis program NASCAR Race Hub will broadcast its final episode on Fox Sports 1 next month. The one-hour weekday show, which debuted in 2009 on the Speed Channel before moving to FS1 in 2013, is being canceled, with the last edition set to air on June 11th. NASCAR Race Hub provided fans with a nightly dose of racing updates, interviews, analysis and more during the season, featuring a rotating crew of hosts and experts like Chad Knaus, Michael Waltrip and Jamie McMurray. One of its most popular segments was “Radioactive,” recapping recent races with team radio audio. Though it hit the 2,500 episode milestone in January, Race Hub could not survive the latest round of programming cuts at Fox Sports.
