NASCAR Reinstates Daniel Dye After Suspension, Won’t Return to Kaulig Racing

Daniel Dye has been reinstated by NASCAR after being indefinitely suspended on March 17 for homophobic comments directed at David Malukas. The decision was confirmed in a penalty report released Tuesday.

Despite being cleared to return to competition, Dye announced he will step away from his full-time ride in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, where he had been driving the No. 10 RAM 1500 for Kaulig Racing.

“I’m incredibly thankful for my time in the Truck Series and for the opportunity with Kaulig Racing,” Dye said. “After a lot of self-reflection, I believe it’s best to realign my focus toward my long-term goals.”

Kaulig Racing confirmed it has accepted Dye’s resignation, expressing support for his future both personally and professionally. While Dye is now eligible to compete in NASCAR National Series events immediately, he indicated he will take time to reset before pursuing his next opportunity.

With the vacancy in the No. 10 truck, Corey LaJoie will step in for the remainder of the 2026 season. LaJoie brings veteran experience across multiple NASCAR series and will begin his tenure this weekend at Rockingham Speedway.

“I’ve missed the grind of competition,” LaJoie said. “There’s work to do, but I believe in what Kaulig Racing is building and look forward to the challenge.”

Additionally, Ty Dillon will move into the No. 25 entry for the upcoming race as the team reshuffles its lineup. Team leadership cited LaJoie’s experience and familiarity with the organization as key factors in the decision.

The transition begins at the Black’s Tire 200 on April 3, where Kaulig Racing looks to continue developing its program with a new driver behind the wheel.
