Tyler Reddick Overcomes Adversity to Dominate Darlington

Tyler Reddick continued his incredible start to the 2026 season with a commanding win in the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway. Despite multiple issues throughout the race, Reddick powered to victory by 5.847 seconds over Brad Keselowski, earning his fourth win in the first six races of the NASCAR Cup Series season.

The strong start places Reddick alongside legends Dale Earnhardt and Bill Elliott as the only drivers to win four of the first six races in a season. However, this victory did not come easily. Early in the race, Reddick battled an alternator issue that forced him to conserve power, even shutting off his cooling system in the South Carolina heat. A battery change later in the race sent him to the back of the field, creating another obstacle.

Additional setbacks followed, including a slow green-flag pit stop due to a tire issue and a late-race incident with Chris Buescher that cost him valuable time. Despite all of it, Reddick and the No. 45 team stayed composed. After his final pit stop, he erased a seven-second gap to Keselowski, who had led a race-high 142 laps.

Reddick completed the comeback on Lap 266, passing Keselowski for the lead and pulling away in the closing laps. He finished with 77 laps led and secured the 12th win of his career.

Keselowski settled for second after a strong performance, while Ryan Blaney finished third despite dealing with a penalty earlier in the race. Carson Hocevar impressed with a fourth-place finish after starting from the rear, and Austin Cindric completed the top five.

Reddick’s ability to overcome adversity at one of NASCAR’s toughest tracks showed both speed and resilience. With four wins already this season, he has quickly become the driver to beat as the series heads to Martinsville Speedway for the next race.
