The SMX League™ unveiled the venues for the 2026 SMX World Championship Playoffs and Final during Friday’s season-opening Monster Energy SMX World Championship™ press conference in Anaheim, California. Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio; Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California; and Thunder Ridge Nature Arena in Ridgedale, Missouri will each play host to the postseason in September.
The announcement follows a memorable 2025 SMX postseason that further cemented Jett Lawrence’s place in championship history. Lawrence captured his third SMX World Championship, once again finishing ahead of brother Hunter and remaining the only rider to claim a premier-class title since the championship’s launch in 2023. In the 250SMX division, Japan’s Jo Shimoda emerged victorious in a dramatic, winner-take-all finale in Las Vegas, defeating two-time champion Haiden Deegan to secure his first title. Shimoda’s triumph also marked a historic milestone as the first SMX champion from Japan.
The 2026 SMX postseason schedule begins with Playoff 1 on Saturday, September 12 at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus. Playoff 2 follows on Saturday, September 19 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, before the season concludes with the SMX World Championship Final on Saturday, September 26 at Thunder Ridge Nature Arena in Ridgedale.
Southern California’s deep roots in Supercross and Motocross history make it a natural destination for marquee events. The region will host four rounds during the 2026 regular season, including the season opener, before welcoming the series back for the postseason. Located in the heart of the greater Los Angeles area, Dignity Health Sports Park offers a fitting stage for playoff racing in a market long associated with elite motorsports competition and extensive media exposure.
Earlier on Friday, the SMX League also announced a broader partnership with Bass Pro Shops, highlighted by the decision to stage the World Championship Final at Thunder Ridge Nature Arena. Widely regarded as one of the most visually striking venues in North America, Thunder Ridge is set within a natural amphitheater in the Ozarks, delivering a unique blend of outdoor beauty and purpose-built design. The championship finale will pair world-class racing with a premium destination experience, including accommodations at Big Cedar Lodge, the Official Accommodations partner, known for its championship golf courses, acclaimed dining options, and immersive outdoor setting.
The SMX World Championship Playoffs and Final will feature the sport’s top competitors, with the top 20 riders in combined Supercross and Pro Motocross points earning automatic qualification into the postseason. These athletes will battle for the ultimate World Championship honor after enduring a demanding 28-round season across both indoor and outdoor disciplines, followed by two playoff rounds and a winner-take-all final.
