Heim Claims Pole for Baptist Health 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway

Corey Heim continues to demonstrate his dominance in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, securing the pole position for Friday’s Baptist Health 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway with an impressive lap time of 32.111 seconds (168.167mph).

The 22-year-old Marietta, Georgia native, who has already collected victories at Daytona International Speedway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway this season, captured his first pole of 2024 and the eighth of his Truck Series career. Notably, his previous pole came at this same track last October.

Heim, a development driver for 23XI Racing, outpaced his TRICON Garage teammate Tanner Gray for the top qualifying spot. Gray, driving the No. 15 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, enters this weekend’s race with momentum after finishing third at Las Vegas Motor Speedway last weekend.

NASCAR Cup Series star Kyle Larson qualified third in the No. 07 Spire Motorsports entry sponsored by HendrickCars.com. Larson, who will compete in all three NASCAR national series races at Homestead this weekend, led the way for Spire’s HendrickCars.com-sponsored trucks, with teammates Rajah Caruth starting 12th and Corey Day 16th.

Front Row Motorsports driver Layne Riggs secured the fourth position in his No. 34 Ford F-150, while Rookie of The Year leader Gio Ruggiero completed the top five in another TRICON Garage entry.

The remainder of the top ten qualifiers included Tyler Ankrum, Ross Chastain, Grant Enfinger, Stewart Friesen, and defending series champion Ty Majeski.

Brandon Jones, making his first Truck Series start of the season for TRICON Garage, will roll off 11th after showing significant speed during practice.

Other notable qualifying positions include Kaden Honeycutt (13th), Daniel Hemric (14th), Chandler Smith (15th), Connor Mosack (19th), veteran Matt Crafton (23rd), Ben Rhodes (24th), and Jack Wood (26th). Despite qualifying 26th in the No. 91 McAnally-Hilgemann Racing Chevrolet, Wood posted the fastest time in practice.

The Baptist Health 200 is scheduled for Friday, March 21, at 8:00 PM ET, with coverage on FOX, NASCAR Racing Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
