Austin Hill Continues Atlanta Dominance with Fifth Victory at Track

Austin Hill’s remarkable run at Atlanta Motor Speedway continued Saturday as he dominated the Bennett Transportation and Logistics 250, securing his third consecutive victory at the track and fifth in seven starts since its reconfiguration. The Richard Childress Racing driver led an overwhelming 146 of 163 laps en route to his 11th career NASCAR Xfinity Series win.

“To be able to do this is something special,” Hill said after the race. The victory was particularly meaningful as it came in a race sponsored by Bennett Transportation, with Hill noting, “It looks like to me they need to sponsor some more NASCAR Xfinity races because this has been a good omen for us.”

The win marked a milestone for crew chief Chad Haney, who collected his first victory as a crew chief since joining the team this season. It also continued RCR’s strong start to 2024, following Jesse Love’s Daytona victory last week – the first time the team has won consecutive races with different drivers since summer 2016.

Justin Allgaier finished second after challenging for the lead late, while Aric Almirola took third in his first of nine scheduled starts for Joe Gibbs Racing this season. Sammy Smith and Nick Sanchez completed the top five.

The victory propelled Hill to the top of the regular-season standings, where he now holds a one-point advantage over Sheldon Creed. The series next heads to Circuit of The Americas for its first road course event of the season.
