UPDATE: Parker Kligerman was disqualified in post-race technical inspection for a height violation, handing Corey Heim and TRICON Garage the victory. The DQ also elevates sixth place Justin Haley into the top five and 11th place Frankie Muniz into the top 10. With the DQ, Muniz earned his first career top 10 finish and Reaume Brothers Racing had multiple entries finish in the top 10 for the first time.
Parker Kligerman captured an emotional victory in Friday’s Fresh From Florida 250 at Daytona International Speedway, securing his fourth career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win in dramatic fashion to open the 2025 season.
The part-time driver of the No. 75 Chevrolet Silverado navigated his way through last-lap chaos to claim his first victory since Mid-Ohio in 2022, leading only two laps en route to the win. An overwhelmed Kligerman could barely contain his emotions in Victory Lane, declaring it the “biggest win of my entire life” while catching his breath.
TRICON Garage demonstrated impressive strength, with Corey Heim finishing second and rookie sensation Gio Ruggiero taking third in his NASCAR national series debut. The organization placed two drivers on the podium, with Ruggiero showing particular poise in his first superspeedway race after leading crucial laps late in the event.
Defending series champion Ty Majeski began his title defense with a solid fourth-place finish, while 2024 Championship Four contender Grant Enfinger completed the top five despite overcoming a late-race speeding penalty and damage from contact with Timmy Hill during green flag pit stops.
The 100-lap event featured multiple incidents, including three separate accidents in turn four that claimed Kaden Honeycutt, Toni Breidinger, and Clay Greenfield in similar fashion. The race’s defining moment came on the final lap when contact between Ben Rhodes and Johnny Sauter sent both ThorSport Racing teammates spinning from the lead, opening the door for Kligerman’s victory.
Stage victories went to Rhodes and Matt Crafton, with ThorSport Racing showing impressive speed throughout the middle portion of the race. However, their chances at victory were dashed by the late-race incident between teammates.
Notable performances included William Sawalich and Jason White’s top-10 finishes. White’s ninth-place result marked the best finish of his Truck Series career, while Sawalich impressed in his series debut at the challenging superspeedway.
Leaving Daytona, Majeski holds a slim one-point advantage over Heim and Chandler Smith in the championship standings. Layne Riggs, despite being collected in a last-lap incident, earned the inaugural Xfinity Fastest Lap bonus point.
The Truck Series returns to action on Saturday, February 22, at Atlanta Motor Speedway, where drivers will face another challenging superspeedway-style race on the reconfigured 1.54-mile track.
