Manufacturer: Chevrolet
Engine: ECR Engines
Driver-Crew Chief Pairing: Austin Dillon-Richard Boswell (No. 3), Kyle Busch-Randall Burnett (No. 8)
Team Outlook: After a challenging 2024 season that saw Kyle Busch go winless for the first time in his full-time Cup career and Austin Dillon’s Richmond win negated by a penalty, Richard Childress Racing enters 2025 seeking redemption. The championship organization will also see Xfinity Series standout Austin Hill make several starts as the team works to strengthen its overall program.
“The potential is there – we’ve shown that before,” said team owner Richard Childress. “We’re focused on getting both cars consistently competitive and back to victory lane.”
AUSTIN DILLON, NO. 3 CHEVROLET
Experience: 11 full seasons in the NASCAR Cup Series
2024 Stats: 32nd in final Cup Series standings; 1 win, 1 top five, 5 top 10s
2025 Championship Odds (DraftKings): 150-1
Outlook: Coming off the worst points finish of his career (32nd), Dillon looks to rebound in 2025 with new crew chief Richard Boswell, his fifth crew chief in three years. The 34-year-old has proven he can win NASCAR’s biggest races, with victories in both the Daytona 500 (2018) and Coca-Cola 600 (2017) among his five career Cup wins. Boswell joins RCR after leading Chase Briscoe to victory in the 2024 regular-season finale at Darlington while at Stewart-Haas Racing.
KYLE BUSCH, NO. 8 CHEVROLET
Experience: 20 full seasons in the NASCAR Cup Series
2024 Stats: 20th in final Cup Series standings; 0 wins, 5 top fives, 10 top 10s
2025 Championship Odds (DraftKings): 22-1
Outlook: After a stunning 2024 that marked his first winless season in full-time Cup competition, Busch enters 2025 determined to prove the struggles were an anomaly. The two-time champion showed flashes of his typical form with back-to-back runner-up finishes at Daytona and Darlington mid-season, but managed just one top-10 during the playoffs. At age 39, Busch remains NASCAR’s active wins leader with 63 victories and still seeks his first Daytona 500 trophy to start the season.
BOLD PREDICTION: Kyle Busch will emphatically snap his winless drought early in 2025 and return to championship form, silencing retirement talk by advancing deep into the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Dillon-Boswell pairing will click, resulting in multiple wins and Austin’s first playoff appearance since 2022.
