Rising Star Andres Perez de Lara Joins Spire Motorsports

Spire Motorsports has made a significant move for the 2025 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series season by signing 19-year-old Andres Perez de Lara to drive the No. 77 Chevrolet Silverado. The young Mexican driver comes into the series with an impressive racing pedigree, having just clinched the 2024 ARCA Menards Series Championship.

Perez de Lara made his mark in the ARCA series, becoming the first Mexican-born driver to win the national title in the series’ 72-year history. His performance has been nothing short of remarkable, with 10 top-five and 17 top-10 finishes in the 2024 season. This follows an equally strong debut season in 2023, where he was the series’ championship runner-up.

The young driver’s racing journey began in karting at just 11 years old and has since progressed through L-A Formula 4 and NASCAR Mexico Trucks. He’s already a champion in his own right, having won the 2022 NASCAR Mexico Challenge Series title.

Veteran crew chief Chad Walter will be leading the team, bringing over two decades of experience to the No. 77 truck. Walter’s impressive resume includes working with top-tier NASCAR teams and notable accomplishments like Daytona 500 victories.

Spire Motorsports co-owner Jeff Dickerson expressed enthusiasm about the signing, highlighting Perez de Lara’s potential and his integration into the team’s processes. The driver himself is excited about the opportunity, eager to compete and take on the challenges of new tracks in the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series.

Sponsors Telcel, Infinitium, and Claro will be featured on the No. 77 Chevrolet Silverado, with primary sponsorship to be announced later. Fans can catch Perez de Lara’s series debut at the Fresh From Florida 250 at Daytona International Speedway on February 14, which will be televised live on FS1.

As Perez de Lara pursues the 2025 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Rookie of the Year honors, all eyes will be on this young Mexican talent as he takes his next step in a promising racing career.
