SuperMotocross World Championship Celebrates Record-Breaking 2024 Season

The 2024 SuperMotocross World Championship series has achieved unprecedented success, with NBC Sports’ coverage delivering remarkable viewership gains across all platforms. The series, which combines the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship, Pro Motocross Championship, and SuperMotocross World Championship Finals, averaged a Total Audience Delivery (TAD) of 502,000 viewers, marking a substantial 26% increase from 2023.

The season’s standout moment came during the Washougal Pro Motocross race on July 20, which attracted 1.1 million viewers across NBC, Peacock, and NBC Sports Digital, becoming the most-watched SuperMotocross race since 2021. This milestone event demonstrates the growing mainstream appeal of the sport.

Streaming numbers have been particularly impressive, with Peacock delivering the most-streamed season on record. Viewers consumed more than 1.9 billion total minutes of content across 31 rounds, representing a 24% increase from the previous year. The 2024 season also made history by claiming the top five most-streamed SuperMotocross races in Peacock’s history, with 12 races ranking among the top 15 all-time.

The 2024 season marked the second year of the unified SuperMotocross World Championship series, culminating in Las Vegas on September 21. The finals saw Jett Lawrence and Haiden Deegan successfully defend their world championship titles in the 450 and 250 classes, respectively.

Looking ahead, NBC Sports and the SuperMotocross League are entering the third season of their multi-year media rights extension, which was announced in October 2022. The 2025 season kicks off on January 11 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, featuring 17 rounds of Monster Energy Supercross Championship, followed by 11 Pro Motocross races beginning May 24. The season will conclude with the postseason championship battle in September.

The impressive viewership growth across traditional broadcast and streaming platforms, combined with the successful unification of Supercross and Pro Motocross disciplines, suggests a bright future for the sport as it continues to expand its reach and engage fans through multiple viewing options.
