Ty Majeski Clinches Victory in Thrilling NASCAR Truck Series Finale at Richmond

Ty Majeski emerged victorious in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series regular-season finale at Richmond Raceway, securing his second consecutive win in the Clean Harbors 250. The 29-year-old Wisconsin native showcased his skill and determination, taking the lead on a restart with just eight laps remaining and holding off Christian Eckes to claim the checkered flag.

Driving the No. 98 ThorSport Racing Ford, Majeski crossed the finish line 0.936 seconds ahead of Eckes, redeeming himself after a heartbreaking loss at the same track last year. In 2023, Majeski had dominated the race only to lose the lead in the final laps, making this year’s victory particularly sweet.

The win didn’t come easy for Majeski, who had to overcome a pit-road penalty early in the race when a tire got loose during his first pit stop. Despite this setback, he fought his way back to the front, demonstrating the strength and resilience that have become hallmarks of his racing career.

“This feels good,” Majeski said after the race. “We’ve had great ThorSport trucks here at Richmond the last two years but found different ways to lose them and tried to do that again tonight.” He acknowledged the need to clean up mistakes, showing his commitment to continuous improvement.

While Majeski celebrated his victory, Christian Eckes secured the Regular Season Championship by winning the opening stage of the race. Eckes, who has claimed three victories in 2024, expressed confidence in his team’s position heading into the playoffs.

In a historic moment for the modern playoff format, Daniel Dye raced his way into championship contention in the last cutoff race. The 20-year-old driver finished eighth, earning enough points to clinch a playoff spot and edge out Tanner Gray.

The playoff field is now set with 10 drivers, led by Corey Heim, who holds a slight advantage over Eckes. Majeski enters the playoffs in third place, followed by other race winners this season, including Nick Sanchez and Rajah Caruth.

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series playoffs are set to begin with the LiUNA! 175 at the Milwaukee Mile on August 25, promising more intense competition and thrilling races as drivers vie for the championship title.
