Christopher Bell’s Thrilling Overtime Victory Extends Perfect Streak at New Hampshire

Christopher Bell showcased his mastery of New Hampshire Motor Speedway once again, securing a dramatic overtime victory in Saturday’s SciAps 200 NASCAR Xfinity Series race. The win marks Bell’s fourth triumph in as many starts at the 1.058-mile track, tying him with A.J. Allmendinger for the most Xfinity Series wins in four starts at a single venue.

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver executed a daring three-wide pass in the final two corners of the overtime period, edging out teammate Sheldon Creed by a mere 0.254 seconds. This victory extends Bell’s perfect record at New Hampshire and brings his total Xfinity Series win count to 18.

“I was just really fortunate, that’s for sure,” Bell said after the race. “I feel so bad for Sheldon. He’s been really, really close to winning these things and today he did everything right to win that race.”

For Creed, the second-place finish was bittersweet. It marked his 10th runner-up result in the series, tying him with NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Jarrett and former champion Daniel Hemric for the most second-place finishes before a first win.

“I don’t know, running out of ways to lose them,” Creed remarked, maintaining a positive outlook despite the disappointment. “Been in the hunt the past four weeks so just going to keep working hard at it.”

Cole Custer, who led a race-high 114 laps, finished third and maintained his championship lead. The reigning series champion now holds a 15-point advantage over Chandler Smith in the standings.

The race featured intense competition with 15 lead changes among 10 drivers. Notable performances included Justin Allgaier’s fourth-place finish and rookie Carson Kvapil rounding out the top five.

As the Xfinity Series moves to Nashville Superspeedway next weekend, all eyes will be on whether Creed can break his second-place streak and if anyone can challenge Bell’s dominance at New Hampshire in future seasons.
