INDYCAR Lands Massive Media Rights Deal with FOX Sports

In a landmark agreement announced today, INDYCAR and FOX Sports revealed that the NTT INDYCAR Series and the iconic Indianapolis 500 will have a new exclusive television home beginning in 2025 – FOX’s broadcast network and streaming platforms.

The new media rights partnership represents an unprecedented increase in exposure for North America’s premier open-wheel racing series. Every single INDYCAR race in 2025 and beyond will air live on FOX’s main broadcast network and be available for streaming on the FOX Sports app.

Perhaps the biggest beneficiary is the Indianapolis 500 itself. FOX has committed to carrying live coverage of not just the full race, but also both days of Indianapolis 500 qualifications. In total, there will be a record 19 broadcast network windows dedicated to the NTT INDYCAR Series in 2025, making it the only premier U.S. motorsport with exclusive coverage on a major network for all its events.

“This represents unrivaled exposure and provides an unparalleled growth opportunity for the most competitive and entertaining motorsport on the planet,” said INDYCAR CEO Mark Miles. “FOX Sports is a fully committed partner, ready to bring engaging and technically innovative coverage to millions of fans across the country while also promoting INDYCAR thoroughly across all its platforms.”

The 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge will take center stage on FOX’s broadcast on Sunday, May 25, 2025. Race day coverage will span five hours to fully capture the pageantry and excitement of “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”

FOX Sports CEO and Executive Producer Eric Shanks expressed his network’s enthusiasm about adding the Indy 500 and full INDYCAR schedule.

“Adding the iconic Indianapolis 500 and delivering the entire NTT INDYCAR SERIES to the FOX Sports roster fits perfectly within our model of teaming with sports’ largest events and best-in-class brands,” Shanks stated. “We’re honored to be the new broadcast home to ‘The Greatest Spectacle in Racing,’ an incredibly special event to everyone at FOX Sports.”

The 2025 NTT INDYCAR Series kicks off with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on March 2 and concludes with the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix on August 31. In addition to the Indy 500 and all NTT INDYCAR Series races airing on FOX’s broadcast network, FS1 and FS2 will telecast all practice, qualifying sessions, and the majority of INDY NXT by Firestone races.

This groundbreaking media rights deal continues the tremendous momentum INDYCAR has experienced in recent years through rising attendance, commercial partnerships, and record digital viewership metrics. Additional details, including the on-air talent lineup, will be announced by FOX Sports at a later date.
