After a brief stop in the Midwest, the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series are heading west to the scenic Sonoma Raceway in California’s wine country. The track’s twisting road course layout makes for some exciting left and right-hand turn action as drivers battle for position on the hilly circuit.

The Xfinity Series kicks things off on Saturday, June 8th with the Zip Buy Now, Pay Later 250. The 79-lap race will see drivers like road course specialist Boris Said take on the challenging 12-turn, 1.99-mile course. After grabbing his first career Xfinity win last week, Shane van Gisbergen will look to keep his momentum going as well.

My Pick: Sheldon Creed

The next day, the Cup Series stars take over with the Toyota/Save Mart 350 on Sunday afternoon. Fresh off his shocking St. Louis win after leaders Christopher Bell and Ryan Blaney hit misfortune, Austin Cindric will try to keep rolling.

But all eyes will be on the trio of Australian Supercars drivers making starts – points leader Will Brown in the #33 for Richard Childress Racing, Cam Waters in the #60 Stage 60 car for RFK Racing, and last week’s winner Shane van Gisbergen. Their road racing talents could make them threats for the win.

My Pick: Martin Truex Jr.

Whichever way it plays out, the twists and turns of Sonoma are sure to provide plenty of excitement for NASCAR’s annual visit to Northern California wine country.
