NASCAR today unveiled the list of nominees for induction into the NASCAR Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025 as well as the Landmark Award for Outstanding Contributions to NASCAR. The Modern Era ballot features several championship-winning drivers and crew chiefs, while the Pioneer ballot honors some of the sport’s trailblazing competitors from NASCAR’s early days.

Leading the Modern Era ballot is Greg Biffle, who became the first driver to win championships in both the Xfinity Series (2002) and Craftsman Truck Series (2000). He’s joined by legendary engine builder Randy Dorton, whose powerplants propelled teams to nine national series titles. Three-time Truck Series champion Jack Sprague also appears on the ballot.

The Pioneer ballot welcomes first-time nominees in “Mr. Modified” Ray Hendrick, who won over 700 races, and three-time Convertible Division champ Bob Welborn. Larry Phillips, already a five-time national champion in NASCAR’s weekly series, is nominated for the first time on the Pioneer ballot after maxing out his eligibility on the Modern Era ballot.

Two Modern Era candidates and one Pioneer candidate will be voted into the Class of 2025 by the NASCAR Hall of Fame Voting Panel on May 21. Their vote will be augmented by a NASCAR.com fan vote running through May 19.

For the Landmark Award, recognizing outstanding contributions to NASCAR, safety innovator Dr. Dean Sicking makes his debut on the ballot. Sicking invented the SAFER barrier system which has prevented countless injuries and saved lives in crashes at NASCAR oval tracks.

The prestigious Landmark nominees also include Alvin Hawkins, NASCAR’s first official flagman, Lesa France Kennedy from the sport’s founding family, Pocono Raceway founder Dr. Joseph Mattioli, and former executive Les Richter who helped grow NASCAR on the West Coast.

The Class of 2025 and Landmark Award winner will be inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in January 2025 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Stay tuned for the highly anticipated voting results on May 21.
