*update* According to Flo Racing Tim McCreadie will be heading to Rocket 1 to replace Hudson O’Neal.
In a major shakeup, two-time Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series champion Tim McCreadie has left Paylor Motorsports, the team announced today. McCreadie, who won back-to-back national titles with the team in 2021 and 2022, has decided to pursue another driving opportunity.
“There is no ill-will at all towards Timmy,” said team owner Donald Bradsher. “He is a tremendous driver, and we accomplished a lot together. I would have loved to chase our third Lucas Oil title this year, but he made a decision that he feels is best for him personally.”
With McCreadie’s departure, Paylor Motorsports will now focus all its efforts on rising star Carson Ferguson. The 24-year-old from Lincolnton, North Carolina has driven a part-time #93 entry for the team since 2022 while also winning back-to-back Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series championships.
Ferguson will now take over the team’s vaunted #39 machine and compete on a national stage, beginning immediately. After this weekend’s Bama Bash with the Hunt the Front Series, Ferguson is slated to enter the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series doubleheader on March 22-23 at Atomic and Brownstown Speedways.
“A few years ago, the Bradshers and Wesley Page took a chance on me in a crate car. Now I have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of one of the sport’s greatest in Tim McCreadie,” said an excited Ferguson. “We’re not sure what our schedule will be yet, but the entire team is ready to hit the ground running.”
With McCreadie’s vast success, Ferguson has massive shoes to fill. But the young gun has been rapidly rising through the ranks and now gets his long-awaited shot with one of the top Super Late Model operations in the country.
