Max Verstappen’s dominance in Formula 1 shows no signs of slowing down. The three time reigning world champion claimed his third consecutive pole position by topping qualifying at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah.
This marks the 40th consecutive race where Verstappen has led the championship points standings, an incredible run of sustained excellence. His blistering pace around the high-speed Jeddah Corniche Circuit underscored his status as the driver to beat this season.
Verstappen’s Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez will line up third on the grid, this extends their strong start to the 2024 campaign.
Charles Leclerc was able to split the Red Bull duo by qualifying second for Ferrari. It continues an impressive streak of seven straight front row starts for the Monegasque driver dating back to last season. However, he’ll need to convert that qualifying speed into race results to truly mount a challenge against the formidable Verstappen.
The start in Jeddah promises fireworks, with Verstappen pursuing his first win at this circuit from pole position. He’ll be aiming to quickly open another championship points lead as the intensity of the 2024 F1 season continues to ramp up.
