The prestigious Rolex 24 At Daytona, North America’s premier twice-around-the-clock sports car endurance race, will take the green flag for its 63rd running on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025 at Daytona International Speedway.
The kick-off event for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season, the grueling 24-hour contest will start at 1:40 p.m. ET on Jan. 25 and continue through the following afternoon on the 3.56-mile road course at the “World Center of Racing.” The race will conclude at 1:40 p.m. ET on Sunday, Jan. 26.
“The Rolex 24 is one of the bucket-list events for any race fan, pitting the world’s top drivers and high-tech machines against each other for a full day and night of non-stop action,” said Daytona President Frank Kelleher. “We’re thrilled to announce the dates for the 63rd running and can’t wait to welcome fans from around the globe back to Daytona next January.”
The entire event weekend will kick off on Thursday, Jan. 23 with load-in and technical inspection. Friday, Jan. 24 will feature the season-opening BMW Endurance Challenge race for the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge series, along with practice sessions for the Rolex 24 competitors.
The celebrated Roar Before the Rolex 24 test session, where teams prepare for the twice-around-the-clock challenge, returns the weekend prior on Jan. 17-19, 2025. Offering fans a preview of the contenders, the three-day Roar allows teams to dial in their setups and strategies before race week.
Last year’s 62nd Rolex 24 At Daytona saw record crowds pack the Speedway’s infield and grandstands to watch an action-packed race won by the No. 10 Konica Minolta Acura ARX-06 prototype. Attendance for the Roar Before the 24 also reached new heights as fans got an early look at the 2024 machinery.
Entries for the 2025 edition are expected to feature the debut of new hybrid prototypes from major manufacturers like Acura, Cadillac and BMW joining the production-based GTD class cars on the high banks of Daytona.
